They don't have much money currently, so they aren't bearing much of the tax burden that Israel's permanent state of war creates, but settlements offer them (or their friends or relatives or fellow members of the working class) a means toward greater prosperity. What are you going to offer that's a good substitute for real property of one's own?<br /><br />(This is probably the Israeli government policy that I find most troubling: giving people an economic incentive to want a Greater Israel, while denying that it's official policy to retain all the disputed territory.)PGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09381347581328622706noreply@blogger.com
