I wonder if this underlines a similar trend re the Holocaust where it can only be responded to as apologia for Zionism because so inevitably do these historical events indicate Israel as a haven for world Jewry and not merely a colonial crime. Ironically this greatly circumscribes their appeal to common people who can [and do] recognize that Israel can be both a necessary project in light of Mizrahi and Ashkenazi tragedy as well as trauma for the Palestinians (that can be righted with their own state).
