Continuing on the theme of
why are we giving Rudy Giuliani a pass on the "experience" issue, when his Presidential resume consists of two terms at the
Municipal level of government,
Jon Chait points out that there is nothing in Giuliani's background that would remotely suggest he knows anything about foreign policy. Given that America's foreign policy stance likely will remain an important issue come 2008, this, to say the least, should be a problem.

ReplyDeleteAfter all, he has a namesake (at least) who was the autocratic Emporer of a major early civilisation which had very strong pretensions to empire, and for many years under Giuliani's namesake did actually succeed.
Who could be better to take over from the present Augustus.
I'm not sure if any of hte candidates, Dem or GOP, have foreign policy experience that I would be comfortable with if they won the Presidency.
