With the announced addition of women's boxing to the summer Olympics (which Cuba will not partake in), ski jumping stands alone as the final sport in the Olympics without gender parity. The reason? Well, there really isn't one: just a parade of sexist non-sense which should embarrass any remotely egalitarian individual.

"ski jumping stands alone as the final sport in the Olympics without gender parity". incorrecto.
Men only events:
Greco-Roman wrestling
Baseball (Softball got the axe this past olympics).
Decathlon (although women do compete in the Heptathlon)
1500m swimming (women compete in the 800m)
For the ladies:
synchronized swimming
rhythmic gymnastics
And there certainly might be others.
That's interesting ... I kept hearing that boxing was the final single-sex summer sport (it looks like Ski Jumping is the last Winter Olympic sport to not go co-ed, but I thought boxing was the final frontier in the summer games). I wonder what's behind the misinformation.
